Alongside many other strategies and tactics in this collective struggle, this Sex Strike // Strike for Pleasure is being organized in response to the US abortion bans. The call is two-fold:

✦ An invitation to ritual solidarity through our collective refusal.

✦ A broader call to resource ourselves with pleasure and eros: the exact things that scare those in power so damn much that they seek to enclose and police them.

But the power of the erotic – or, as Audre Lorde puts it, the erotic as power – is the force of life itself, that which animates all things. An endlessly renewable source, eros is the unstoppable fuel of our revolution.

So we give ourselves the spaciousness to slow down and tune in deep to sensation and pleasure, both for its inherent beauty, intelligence, divinity and wisdom – and to supply us with the energy for the fights ahead.
